Acting
Ahmed studied theatre at the Institute of Fine Arts and later at the prestigious Academy of Fine Arts in Baghdad. He became the youngest member of the Iraqi National Theater and the first black Iraqi to host a television program. Ahmed also played the lead role of Romeo in Romeo and Juliet at the Royal Shakespeare Company in England.
Ahmed has collaborated with theatre companies including Crow's Theatre, Soulpepper Theatre (Academy Alumni), Driftwood Theatre Group (Artist-in-Residence), Jabari Dance Theatre, and Modern Times Stage Company. He is a co-founder of TRIA Theatre Company, where he co-created and starred in the Dora-winning play with music, King Gilgamesh, and has been nominated for two other Doras as an performer.
